Nathan Margalit is a painter and printmaker.  He has had numerous solo exhibitions, group
shows and museum and touring exhibitions.  His work is in public and private collections in the US, South Africa, Canada, Australia and Germany.

Born in Israel, Margalit was raised and educated in South Africa. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Cape Town, obtaining his MFA at the Maryland Institute College of Art.  He returned to teach at UCT in South Africa and was appointed Head of Foundation Studies at the School of Fine Art.   In 1986 Margalit was invited to take up a three year visiting artist appointment at Amherst College.  Since taking up residency in the United States, Margalit has continued to exhibit and teach.

Nathan Margalit lives in Amherst, Massachusetts where he has his studio.
